Stadt Wehlen
The Place
The valley and hillside communities Stadt Wehlen and Dorf Wehlen are united by an over 700-year-long history. The market place, with the town hall and the church, marks the center. The castle hill with the remains of walls from the 13th century quite literally towers above the houses. Recommended visits include the aquatic fun park and the local riding center. Further attractions are the Museum of Local History and a botanical garden.
Sightseeing Tips
An idyllic trail leads you through the gorges of the Wehlener Gründe and past interesting spots such as the Steinerner Tisch, built by Augustus the Strong in 1710 as a resting place for hunters, to the famous Bastei Rock viewpoint.

You can reach Stadt Wehlen with the regular services „Saxon Swizerland“, „Elbe Valley Cruise“ and „National Park Line“.
