Radebeul
The Town
Radebeul straddles the Saxon Wine Route and is located right at the gates of Dresden. The many beautiful vineyards are one of Radebeul´s most charming features. You may visit the Karl-May-Museum (on Karl-May-Straße 5), dedicated to the famed author of Western stories and creator of such figures as “Old Shatterhand”. The museum collection features no less than 850 objects. Between Radebeul and Dresden, the Übigau castle marks the beginning of the urban river landscape.
Sightseeing Tips
The historic old town of nearby Altkötzschenbroda is well worth it. You will find there lovely wine taverns and impressive farms and other estates. Alternately, you make take a stroll through the vineyards of Radebeul and reach the Spitzhaus at the summit, or visit the wine growing museum at Hoflössnitz.
