Dresden
The City
Dresden offers a large variety of different attractions. Let´s name some of the most important: The Brühlsche Terrasse is a 930 meter long terraced promenade right along the river. Also known as the Terrassenufer, it is the home port of all our ships. In the heart of the old town is furthermore the Theaterplatz, which is surrounded by some of the city´s most famous monuments, chief amongst them the Hofkirche, the Semperoper and the Zwinger. The Zwinger also houses a remarkable art collection, with no less than 650 paintings, including masterpieces by Raffael and Canaletto. It is also home to the second largest porcelain display in the world. Other highlights of the compact old town are the Neumarkt with the reconstructed Frauenkirche and the nearby Fürstenzug, a 102 meter long mosaic. A visit across the river to Dresden Neustadt also comes highly recommended!
